What's the difference between the Imagine Early Scholarship Fund vs. CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Account?
Understanding the difference between the Community Foundation Imagine Early Fund and the CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings account is extremely helpful in guiding parents. Below is a brief overview to help you explain the difference in a simple manner:
- Imagine Early Scholarship Fund: Owned by the Community Foundation, this fund accumulates scholarships earned by students for academic achievements and for deposits to their 529 account.
- CollegeChoice 529 Direct Savings Account: Owned by the family, this account is where families may save for post-secondary education. A deposit of at least $20 each semester during a student’s 4th-8th grade years earns a $20 savings match to their Imagine Early Scholarship Fund.
Beyond financial planning, your active involvement in your students’ academic life plays a vital role in their success. From ensuring regular attendance to fostering a conducive study environment, your encouragement and guidance make a difference.
