What to know before you begin
- Have your and your student’s Social Security Numbers handy.
- Remember that you never have to make a deposit. To skip the deposit, on the “Contributions” screen, click “Funding Method” and choose “Check.” On the next screen, called “Recurring Contributions,” click “Not right now.” (Choosing the “pay by check” option means you won’t need to add money today or ever.)
- On the “Investments” screen, many families click “Keep it simple.”
- After you click “Open Account,” you will see your new 11-digit 529 account number. Take a photo/screenshot and cross out the last nine digits. Email the picture to imagine-early@cfwabash.org.
- For assistance, call Indiana529 Direct at 1-866-485-9415 Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 8 PM. Press ‘0’ to all questions to reach an agent.
